Weddings are one of the most rewarding but also one of the most serious photography challenges.
Preparation is the key to having success as a wedding photographer. When the wonderful day comes, the shooter must have two of everything, have all the batteries charged and be at the venue early. It is tempting, when concerned about your budget, to attempt to save money by having a friend who "really takes great pictures" do the wedding photography for you.
When the last frame is exposed and everyone goes about their business after the wedding, there is still an immense workload left for the photographer. All the pictures need to be sorted and graded and the best need to be post processed. This usually takes a very long time. Everyone at the wedding has made an effort to look their best. They deserve the best efforts of the photographer so that they look their best in the processed images. There may also be a wedding album to put together and order.
